How to practice Varun Mudra?

Varun Mudra is a Sanskrit word that means “the wheel of energy.” It is an ancient Hindu practice, and there are different variations. There are two central hand positions: the left hand on the back of the neck, while the right hand is near the navel. This practice can detoxify and purify your body by sending healing energy through it. However, like any other exercise, Varun Mudra should not be done if compromised health.  There are several ways to practice a Varun Mudra.

One of the most common forms is to put your left hand on the top of your head and your right hand near your navel. Another common variation is to put the right hand on the back of your neck while the left hand is near the navel. As you are sitting on a chair, you can also place your left hand on the top of your head and your right hand on your stomach.  Another variation is to spread the fingers of your right hand and leave the thumb and pointer finger straight while the other fingers are folded.  The most challenging variation is to keep the thumb and pointer fingers directly while going all the other fingers bent.

While doing Varun Mudra, the practitioner usually tries to form a mudra with their left hand. They hold one of their fingers on their right, and they try to touch their thumb with the top of the middle finger. The current flows through this area and then down to the heart, helping relieve anxiety and tension and keep it calm. This mudra is considered beneficial for people suffering from all the diseases mentioned above and suitable for those suffering from eczema and skin-related issues. This mudra can also help in improving sinuses and respiratory problems.
